What Are The Different Types Of Window Blinds?

Window blinds can come in many different types. When choosing your next window shutters, you may like to stick with what you know, or try something new. Regardless, in case you needed a refresher on the types of window shades available at Veneta Blinds, look no further! We are going to break down our five types of window blinds on offer.

1. Venetian Blinds

The classic Venetian Blinds are horizontal slats suspended by cords that subtly run through the holes drilled into each slat. The blinds can be raised or shut by pulling on the cords. Venetian blinds are relatively easy to install, ensure privacy and seamless use. This makes them well suited for all rooms in your home.

Our Venetian blinds come in three different materials:

  • Timber Venetian Blinds: Made from a phoenixwood quarter sawn for ultimate stability and consistent finish. Choose between cordless or corded options. These venetian blinds have unique smart privacy slats, which ensure there is no light leakage pouring through the holes drilled into the slats.
  • PVC Venetian Blinds: These timber looking PVC venetian blinds are ideal for wet areas. Provides you with cordless or corded options. Like its timber counterpart, these have unique smart privacy slats ensuring no light leakage is visible through the holes drilled into the slats.
  • Aluminium Venetian Blinds: Boasts a slimline aluminium build. You have control options with a cord lift and tilt or a cord lift and wand control.

With these stylish options to choose from, you can’t go wrong with venetian blinds in your home.

2. Honeycomb Blinds

Honeycomb Blinds are characterised by their neat pleats that either open up or fold in on themselves. They are known for their energy efficiency as they trap air, and as a result, insulate the home easily, making them a functional yet stylish addition.

Our honeycomb blinds come in a variety of configurations such as:

  • Bottom Up Honeycomb Blinds: Requires you to lift the fabric from the bottom up. Cordless, corded or cordloop options available.
  • Top Down Bottom Up Honeycomb Blinds: Opens from the top down, the bottom up or both for optimal versatility.

These are just a few of the configurations the honeycomb blinds come in, and there are plenty more.

3. Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds consist of a large, single piece of fabric that rolls up and down a roller to open and close. They are advantageous for optimal light control, privacy, and UV protection.

They come in three different ranges:

  • Designer Roller Blinds: This range provides the option of Chainless Smartglide® one touch lift technology. Features a comprehensive list of beautiful designer fabrics. Add SmartRelease™ option for automatic lowering, and add light guards to block maximum lights.

  • Essentials Roller Blinds: Specifically made for the budget conscious customer. Economically priced with plastic chain drive operation, features less customisation compared to the other two.

With these options, you can’t go wrong with the timeless roller blind.

4. Plantation Blinds

Plantation Blinds feature distinctive wide louvres or slats. Our shutters for windows are all manufactured with TecWood. This premium material features a veneer, which mimics hardwood, and provides additional durability. They have a high resistance to heat damage, such as warping, perfect for the humid Australian climate.

While they may seem similar to venetian blinds, the adjustment of these blinds are different. We employ Revolutionary InvisibleTilt to give precise light and privacy control. They turn evenly with no rattling, making them the best plantation shutters for any home to enjoy.

5. Roman Blinds

Roman Blinds are a type of blind that consists of a single piece of fabric that can fold up and down in horizontal sections to adjust to your liking. They are truly unique and emanate softness.

Our roman blinds come with either a chainless or chainloop option. Chainless blinds do not come with a visible chain, and are lowered and raised by gently pulling a hidden handle. The Chainloop option is a discreet, simple, and easy-to-use system for operating your blind in a more visible fashion.

Our two shade options are the light filter and blockout filter. The former provides day and night privacy without eliminating light sources, and the latter completely blocks light and ensures privacy. With plenty of colour options to choose from, roman blinds are an elegant addition to any window.
